Teradata has unveiled a set of software and hardware applications to increase ease of use and manageability of its Unified Data Architecture (UDA).

Teradata UDA is an analytic ecosystem that orchestrates technologies by taking advantage of their highly differentiated capabilities and economic benefits.

The company claims to be the first to streamline data exploration and analytics by integrating a Teradata Database, Teradata Aster Analytics, and Hadoop in a single Teradata UDA Appliance.

The software is installed into one data centre cabinet. The Teradata UDA Appliance is also a fully configurable analytic ecosystem.

Also announced was the Teradata QueryGrid that now supports Presto allowing users to work with big data using ANSI SQL to query data in Hadoop and Teradata.

The company said that users can now initiate and complete cross-platform queries from Hadoop with processing pushed down into the Teradata Database.

Teradata said both QueryGrid and the UDA Appliance will be available globally in Q1 2016.
