Telefonica Group has reported revenues of €14.97bn for the third quarter of 2009, an increase of 1.2% compared to €14.8bn for the same period last year.
Operating income before depreciation and amortisation increased by 1.4% to €5.97bn, compared to €5.89bn for the same period a year ago. OBITDA margin was up by 0.1 percentage point to 39.9% compared to 39.8% for the same period last year.
For the quarter ended December 2009, the company posted a net income of €2.44bn, up 22.2% compared to €1.99bn for the same period last year. EPS increased to €0.54 from €0.43. During the quarter, the company’s the client base grew by 6.8 million accesses.
Geographically, Spain revenues decreased by 1.6% to €5.05bn from €5.12bn for the same period last year. European revenues outside Spain decreased by 5.5% to €3.48 billion from €3.68 billion, while Latin America revenues increased by 8% to €6.33bn from €5.8bn.
For full year 2009, revenues declined by 2.1% compared to the same period last year. The company posted a net income of €7.77bn, an increase of 2.4% to €7.59bn in 2008.
