Level 3 Communications has expanded its operations in South Ohio, which includes Columbus, Cincinnati and Dayton, in a move to strengthen its presence in the markets throughout the country.

To support its local-expansion effort, the company said that it is growing and realigning its local workforce in South Ohio to combine on-the-ground presence, marketplace knowledge and consultative expertise in communications offerings.

Level 3 claims that it provides opportunities for mid-market enterprises through a combination of its backbone network, metro fibre-optic footprint, and a locally focused sales team.

The company, which has nearly 400 miles of fibre in South Ohio, will add bandwidth to the network and plans to expand the number of businesses that are directly connected to the network.

Kim Richardson, general manager of Level 3, South Ohio, said: “This increased local focus is the direct result of feedback from customers who have asked us to increase our local presence and provide a real, competitive alternative to the incumbents.

“We know the local business communities, we know the full spectrum of communications technologies and, most importantly, we know how to deliver a customer experience that is second-to-none.”
