Kalexo has released Teamwork 5, an unified collaboration software for project-based industries such as design, engineering, manufacturing, construction, architecture and information technology.
Kalexo said that Teamwork is an on-demand unified collaboration software which combines rich-media task and file management with communication tools to improve project velocity. It enables collaboration and communication between distributed teams and organisations in a virtual private network.
According to Kalexo, the new software combines task management, workflow, file sharing, micro-blogging, presence, chat, online meetings, screenshots and screen movies, video conferencing and project management technologies that are used on projects in individual software applications – into one integrated application to securely connect project teams both within and across organizations.
The company said that the new software also comes with a new file streaming feature which combines progressive downloading with file sharing. It allows users to view a large file collection someone else has shared without first downloading and opening those individual files.
Hannes Marais, founder of Kalexo, said: Many project-based industries have similar requirements and our model of organizing project information, the ‘thread,’ is widely applicable. Threads package all information, files and data around a topic or issue into an information capsule that can be securely routed between people and organisations.”
