Juniper Networks has introduced the QFX10000 line of spine switches and Junos Fusion for data centres.
Revealed at its 2015 Innovation Showcase, the new offerings aim to help public and private cloud customers and traditional IT data centres deploy small to Internet-scale networks.
The QFX10000 line is powered by Juniper’s new Q5 chip, an ASIC that increases performance and scale by employing hybrid memory cube technology. The latest addition to the QFX Series portfolio offers 10, 40 and 100GE port density and combines spine, core and data centre edge capabilities into a single platform.
The line includes three platforms, including the QFX10002, the industry’s most compact 100GE spine switch. It also incorporates the QFX10008, a modular eight slot chassis, and the QFX, which increases system capacity to 96 Tbps.
In addition, Junos Fusion is a flexible, open architecture that shares common switching building blocks with QFabric System. It is claimed to automate turn-up and configuration of new networks and reduce the risk of configuration errors.
The new products can be deployed in traditional multi-tier networks, IP and Ethernet fabrics as well as fully virtualised networks.
The event also saw Juniper unveiling an enhanced Converged Supercore and announcing the availability of Express Path.
