Getty Images has deployed Motorola Mobility’s Passive Optical LAN (POL) offering for the next generation enterprise LAN infrastructure at its London office.

Motorola, working with Corning and TCS Cabling, deployed an all-fiber enterprise LAN infrastructure offering which provides Getty Images with a secure, energy-efficient and cost-effective alternative to wire-based enterprise LAN architectures.

The POL offerings can directly support user connectivity over very long distances, or across complex distribution topologies compared to enterprise LAN architectures.

Motoroal said that the POL offering includes its AXS1800 enterprise aggregation switch, ONT1120GE intelligent POL workgroup terminal (WGT), WT21004 WGT with power-over-ethernet (PoE) and AXSvision advanced management system for the enterprise.

The POL offering provides rapid ROI and low TCO than copper-based LANs, simple installation and operation, high security, an all-fiber reliability, and a reduced impact on the environment.

Motorola Mobility access network solutions SVP and GM Joe Cozzolino said that the company’s POL offering provides an efficient case to those enterprises looking to achieve capital savings and interested in simplifying IT operations by deploying fewer LAN components.
