The IT community is this week uniting in Las Vegas for the 2015 edition of Interop.
Full of keynotes, seminars and workshops, the conference includes guests like HP, Dell, Alcatel, Ericsson and many more.
CBR has put together a compelling list of the first major announcements kicking off day one at Interop.
1. SanDisk
SanDisk expanded its portfolio of Fusion ioMemory application accelerators offering capacity from 1TB to 6.4TB. The devices offer up to 4x price performance improvement and 2x capacity across varying workloads.
The solution comprises SanDisk’s NAND flash and Virtual Storage Layer (VSL) data access acceleration software.
SanDisk said the Fusion ioMemory PCIe cards reduce the length of time and infrastructure needed to extract data out of conventional hard drive-based storage systems.
The solution reduces the total amount of hardware, software and other equipment required to manage and run critical applications, boosting data centre consolidations of 3x or more, the enterprise revealed.
2. HP
HP unveiled new campus networking solutions and services that support customers on their path to a mobile-ready workplace that enhances business productivity.
The company’s new campus solutions will help mobile-ready infrastructure that leverages ASIC innovation and SDN technology to address challenges such as security, application performance and network monitoring.
The new HP 5400R zl2 Switch Series v3 modules are powered by the 6th generation HP Networking ASIC, purpose built for the SDN era, allowing it to deliver more than four times the performance of competitive solutions, and three times lower latency.
The 5400R v3 fully supports OpenFlow and can process up to 24 times more flows than it main competitor, allowing multiple concurrent apps with service insertion, unmatched by merchant silicon.
The new HP Network Visualizer SDN application provides IT administrators with real-time detailed visibility of the network to monitor traffic flow and investigate issues. Administrators can easily identify user complaints without having to identify physical location or IP address, by centering visibility on the user experience rather than the physical network.
3. Narra Systems
Narra Systems announced enhancements to its nFast (Full Automation System Testing) platform to include nDNA (Discover Node Attributes).
nDNA enables test lab personnel to dynamically track and manage their cloud-based device assets through a proprietary auto-discovering algorithm even down to – detailed SFP information.
The innovative process ensures device availability, limits idle time and reduces associated lab testing CAPEX/OPEX.
nDNA enhances Narra’s nFast platform by enabling lab personnel to test particular device features or attributes vis-a-vis scouring an organisation’s global cloud environment to learn configurations/parameters and promote dynamic asset management and tracking.
4. Global Cloud Xchange
Global Cloud Xchange (GCX) introduced Cloud X Fusion, offering enterprise grade connectivity with direct access to Google Cloud Platform.
GCX’s Cloud X Fusion ecosystem, together with Google Cloud Interconnect, enables users to move workloads with high network performance and security on a truly global scale.
With Cloud X Fusion, enterprises can use Ethernet or MPLS VPN to connect their on-premises network, data centre or any other network resources via GCX’s private network directly to Google Cloud Interconnect.
Cloud X Fusion currently provides dedicated connection into Google Cloud Interconnect at six locations worldwide including Los Angeles, New York, Amsterdam, London, Hong Kong and Tokyo.
5. Kaipac
Wireless companies Jeff Pokonosky and Mickey Patton announced the formation of a specialty services company – Kaipac – to meet the needs of wireless network managers and field-service personnel who require actionable insight and Network Operations Intelligence (NOI) to optimise network health.
Kaipac’s all-cloud-based InterOp Exchange (IOX) platform provides telecommunications and wireless operators, and companies within the ecosystem, with Network Operations Intelligence necessary to maintain optimum health across their networks.
InterOp Exchange aggregates, collates and transmits data over a secure network, enabling companies to collaborate remotely on preventive maintenance tasks, work orders and trouble tickets.
Kaipac’s IOX streamlines data sharing and workforce-collaboration comms between network operators and their vendors, enabling the sharing of time sensitive, proprietary data related to network health and system optimisation.
