Facebook is giving its Page feature a major makeover, with the revamp tailored to help businesses attract more customers by providing them with free tools.
The tools will allow businesses to add information that customers are most likely to look for, like "Call Now," "Send Message" and "Contact Us."
One of the major upgrade includes the optimisation of the Page feature for mobile and the ability to answer quarries via smartphones.
According to the social media giant, the move was triggered after small business owners told the company that they were getting more customer inquiries through the social network than via phone or emails combined.
With the new feature, businesses will not have to build an entire mobile website or app, instead they can rely on their Facebook Pages.
The company has also started building specific pages to help different types of businesses to fulfil the requirements of different businesses.
According to reports, the latest initiative is a part of the push Facebook is looking for to help companies use Facebook’s messenger to engage with customers, via its tools.
Previously, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said: "The long-term bet is that by enabling people to have good organic interactions with businesses, that will end up being a massive multiplier on the value of the monetization down the road, when we really work on that, and really focus on that in a bigger way."
