Facebook is back in business after the website was knocked down for several hours on Thursday, impacting most users across the globe except for few in Western Europe.
Most users belonging to the US, Canada, Europe, Australia and India saw a message on the site that said: "Sorry, something went wrong. We’re working on it and we’ll get it fixed as soon as we can."
A few users also noticed a ‘Service Unavailable’ message.
The site started to load again slowly with missing features for some by approximately 12:45 p.m. ET , but the outage reportedly lasted for 10 minutes.
The Facebook Graph API was also unavailable as of 12:30 p.m. ET, but the issue was officially resolved at 1:22 p.m. ET.
Worried users took to twitter and other social media platforms to express their concerns with #facebookdown hashtag.
Facebook’s other services like Instagram and Messenger were not affected by the outage.
However, the user response to the outage differed from the response to a similar incident back in January, when people called 911 in the US to ask when the service will be back.
The previous outage took down Facebook, Instagram, and a handful of other sites for about an hour.
