DPS Telecom, a developer of network alarm monitoring systems, has revealed the release of new VoIP orderwire system, the NetGuardian 216 Orderwire. This new product line delivers communication to remote sites while reducing expenses with integrated alarm monitoring.
The company said that this new orderwire system reportedly delivers voice communication to all user LAN sites. Using VoIP (Voice over IP) technology, user can call another orderwire station, conference with a select group of stations, or use the Hoot ‘n Holler ‘all call’ feature to contact all the staff within the system.
Mark Carberry, director of engineering of DPS, said: We wanted to tie in all those great features from traditional orderwire, but over a modern transport. Nobody else is really offering these features using VoIP.
The company claimed that the embedded monitoring functionality of the new orderwire system sets it apart from other manufacturers. In the 1RU chassis, the user gets an alarm remote: 16 discrete alarm points, four analog inputs, and two control relays.
The NetGuardian Orderwire installs into the existing network by plugging it into the user’s LAN hub which helps to avoid the cost of leased telephone lines, long distance charges, and rolling out POTS lines, the company said.
NetGuardian Orderwire runs on SIP 2.0 protocol and the G.711 codec, both VoIP standards. According to the company, the new orderwire system is built within the slim 1RU NetGuardian form factor, so it mounts easily into the existing 19 or 23 racks. It is also powered by -48VDC, so that the system survives commercial AC power loss.
