Deutsche Telekom has reported net revenue of €15.8bn for the first quarter of 2010, a decrease of 0.6% compared to €15.9bn of the same period a year ago.
Net revenue from domestic market was down to €6.73bn from €6.94bn, while net revenue from international market was up to €9.07bn from €8.96bn.
The company posted an operating profit of €2.02bn, compared to an operating profit of €244m for the same period last year. EBITDA decreased to €4.69bn from €4.94bn compared to same period a year ago.
The company reported a net profit of €767m for the first quarter, compared to a net loss of €1.12bn for the same period last year.
Revenue from Germanyoperating segment was down to €6.19bn from €6.33bn, United Statesoperating segment revenue was down to €3.81bn from €4.14bn, and Europeoperating segment revenue was down to €2.41bn from €2.44bn. Revenue from Southern and Eastern Europe operating segment was up from €1.96bn to €2.39bn.
Rene Obermann, CEO of Deutsche Telekom, said: “These results show that we got off to a good start in 2010. We have further stabilised our operations – in some cases achieving substantial improvements – and implemented important steps in our new strategy at the same time.”
Deutsche Telekom expects to generate adjusted EBITDA of approximately €20bn and free cash flow of around €6.2bn in the 2010 financial year.
