Comtech Telecommunications has announced that its subsidiary Comtech Mobile Datacom has received orders totaling $41.8m under its indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract with the US Army Communications Electronics Command.
The orders are for the continued support of the Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below – Blue Force Tracking (FBCB2-BFT) program, a battle command real-time situational awareness and control system, said Comtech Telecommunications.
Comtech received orders to provide satellite network bandwidth as well as program and technical services in support of FBCB2-BFT’s domestic and overseas operations.
Fred Kornberg, president and chief executive officer of Comtech Telecommunications, said: We are extremely pleased to receive these expected orders for additional satellite bandwidth and support services from our Blue Force Tracking customer. We believe this order, which implies an increase in bandwidth usage by our customer over the next 12 months, demonstrates that the military continues to view our equipment as critical to meeting anticipated operational requirements.
