ZTE, a provider of telecommunications equipment and network offerings, has signed a group framework agreement with Batelco Group, a Bahrain-based telecommunication company, to provide wireless offerings, including 2G and 3G equipment.

Under the agreement, ZTE will deploy wireless offerings for Batelco and provide technical and operational support for the company.

Batelco said that ZTE was selected as a partner for this deployment as ZTE demonstrated strong levels of technical and operational support in cooperation programs across India, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

Batelco has worked with ZTE in the Saudi Atheeb Core Network project since 2008, with ZTE deploying a nationwide network using cutting-edge technology.

ZTE Bahrain office general manager Luo Zhentao said this cooperation demonstrates ZTE’s ability to provide an efficient, stable and reliable deployment, and they are confident that the ZTE’s products and offerings will contribute to Batelco’s continued success in the mobile broadband arena.
