Cable&Wireless Worldwide (C&W), a communication provider, has said that Babcock, a British engineering support services provider, has selected it as telecom supplier for three years.
According to the contract, C&W has to consolidate Babcock’s legacy network estate and connect its UK and international sites.
C&W to provise support for public services to the UK government and Ministry of Defence, will link some 250 Babcock sites to ensure its business critical communications infrastructure using its secure and high-speed next-generation network.
The network will come with a Managed Encryption Service, delivering an IL3 accreditation, offering improved data security and connection to key business areas such as; Defence, Communications, Education, Nuclear and Rail.
C&W Worldwide enables to redefine its IT infrastructure and pave the way for future projects, such as data centre consolidation and Managed Video Conferencing by consolidating Babcock’s previously separate networks.
The new network design also enables for collaboration and visibility of service levels for Babcock colleagues, as well as the ease, speed and cost efficiencies associated with working with a single supplier.
Babcock chief information officer Simon Parker said they needed a partner with experience in transitioning networks and who could offer us a resilient, future-proof network.
