The tablet will be available in two versions including the Wi-Fi and a 4G ready version.
Amazon Kindle vice president, Dave Limp, said: "As we expand Kindle Fire HD 8.9 to Europe and Japan, we’ve been able to increase our production volumes and decrease our costs."
The new tablet, which has an 8.9inch display with the resolution of 1920×1200, 254ppi, comes with Dolby audio and dual stereo speakers.
The company has made the tablet available for the price of $269 for the Wi-Fi version, while the 4G version is priced at $399.
