Cloud security firm Trend Micro has expanded its Smart Protection Network incorporating advanced big data analytic capabilities.
The new capabilities will enable Trend Micro to identify new security threats from a broader range of data sources to stop threats faster.
The advanced big data analytic capabilities are integrated into the Smart Protection Network in order to tackle the volume, variety, and velocity of threats.
The upgraded Smart Protection Network now comes with new technologies, including mobile app reputation (for mobile threats), vulnerability rules (for vulnerability and exploits), network inspection rules (for network communications) and in-the-cloud white listing (for minimising false positives).
It also includes new custom tools to correlate critical relationships among all the components of an attack and model cybercriminal behavior, environments they work in.
Trend Micro’s enhanced Smart Protection Network comes with an evolved cloud infrastructure that delivers enhanced capacity to collect massive amounts of threat data without consuming bandwidth on customers’ networks and endpoints.
It also provides automated protection through its cloud infrastructure enabling Trend Micro to protect customers across physical, mobile, virtual and cloud environments.
The new capabilities will help Trend Micro customers receive real-time protection against threats through efficient security products such as Trend Micro Deep Security, Trend Micro Deep Discovery and Trend Micro Titanium for consumer endpoint security.
In addition, the new Trend Micro Smart Protection Network enables organisations and individuals to take a more data-centric approach to security.
