Two executives have joined Symantec’s leadership team, focusing on the security side of the business.
Balaji Yelamanchili has been appointed executive vice president of enterprise security products, following four and a half years as senior vice president of business analytics at software firm Oracle, and seven years at the computer storage firm EMC.
Mike Brown, president and CEO at Symantec, said: "Balaji is a proven leader, with a stellar track record of driving large and globally distributed teams that deliver quality products on time.
"I’m excited about the focus he will bring to our enterprise security products, which will now be managed as a business unit."
Jeff Scheel now leads the firm’s security partnerships as senior vice president of corporate development, alliances and strategy, having spent nine months at Symantec rivals FireEye, and several years at Hewlett-Packard.
"Symantec has long been a global leader in security, and I’m excited to have Jeff’s industry experience to accelerate our progress in realizing our new unified security strategy," Brown added.
"Jeff joins us at an exciting time to build a more robust partner ecosystem and deliver additional capabilities to our customers."
