Security firm Sophos has acquired German mobile device management (MDM) vendor Dialogs. Financial details were not released.
Sophos says the prevalence of mobile devices throughout the enterprise means the mobile security has never been higher on the corporate agenda.
Dialogs’ smartMan MDM platform already forms part of Sophos’ Mobile Control product and it will eventually form the basis of MDM and mobile management services that Sophos will include in its unified threat management-based suite.
The move will see SaaS-based and on-premises mobile management technology added to Sophos’ encryption and data protection capabilities, the companies said.

Dialog counts companies such as BMW, Siemens and ThyssenKrupp among its customers. Its technology works on Apple iPhones and iPads, Google Android phones and tablets, Symbian, Windows Mobile devices and RIM BlackBerry devices.
