SCH Group has acquired Citrix distributor IQ Sys Ltd, a supplier of products and services for virtualisation, networking, security and systems management.

SCH said its latest acquisition is one of a number of moves to build a market leading distribution operation, and which follows the acquisition of ISI in 2008, a key partner for IBM and Sun technologies.

IQ Sys has been in business since 1983 and was formerly part of the QA-IQ Group, an education-led services business.

The company claims it is the largest Citrix distributor in the UK and the combined companies will reportedly account for more than 60% of UK sales, based on current figures.

SCH is one of the biggest independent IT service providers in Europe, with a network of 80 European offices, supported by a multilingual service centre in Romania. Group sales exceeded £2 billion in 2008.
