iPad users have complained of bugs in the iPad app released by social networking site Facebook after months of delay.

Facebook released the iPad app yesterday, 18 months after the launch of the first Apple tablet. But users started reported minor bugs just hours after the release. Users tweeted about the bugs, with some saying that the app should have been tested better, according to the BBC.

The BBC said that Facebook has admitted that there were some bugs, but the social networking site added that it was not unusual for new products.

A Facebook spokesperson told BBC News that all products were always "vigorously" tested before launch.

"However, as with all new technology products, occasionally unexpected bugs will surface once people start using products on a mass scale."

It was "following up on feedback", said Facebook.

The company also denied that there were technical glitches behind the reported delay in the app release.

"We’re releasing it now because it’s done," Facebook chief technology officer Bret Taylor told the BBC.
