Marshal8e6, a provider of secure web gateway and email security products, has released MailMarshal SendSecure, a new hosted email encryption service for business to consumer (B2C) communications. The service is delivered in partnership with email encryption services provider ZixCorp, by adding ‘Intelligent Encryption’ capabilities to Marshal8e6’s email security suite.
According to Marshal8e6, its MailMarshal SendSecure enables companies to send secure email messages without having a pre-existing relationship or needing to perform certificate and key exchanges. Recipients are not required to have any special software installed prior to reading their message.
The company said that MailMarshal SendSecure is a logical extension to MailMarshal SMTP and utilises the SMTP functionality and policy engines. It enables organisations to allow end-users select messages to be encrypted or allow the policy engine to determine if the contents of an email message warrant it to be encrypted.
Nigel Johnson, vice president of product management and business development at ZixCorp, said: Tougher regulations around the world make it clear that email encryption is a requirement for sensitive information. MailMarshal SendSecure delivers an email encryption service with simple deployment in a hosted environment with set-and-forget encryption policy management.”
