India based consulting and IT services provider Mahindra Satyam is extending its relationship with IT security company Symantec to collaborate on security applications for smart grid.
The two companies will work jointly to improve Satyam’s smart grid network security, further providing a secure and effective smart grid services globally.
Mahindra Satyam and Symantec plan to combine expertise and capabilities to deliver cyber security and compliance applications.
The combined approach will leverage Symantec’s Smart Grid applications for control centre security, data control and management, as well as system and device security while utilising Mahindra Satyam’s experience in deploying and managing Smart Grid applications.
Symantec Smart Grid Initiatives vice-president Jose Iglesias said, "The integration of power grid management with IT and networking technologies opens up new possibilities but also brings with it new challenges."
