Dow Jones has suffered a cyber security breach, which may have compromised the data of 3,500 subscribers, including payment card and contact information.
William Lewis, the chief executive of the Rupert Murdoch owned publisher, said in a letter late last week:
"To date, our extensive review has not uncovered any direct evidence that information was stolen, and we have taken steps to stop unauthorized access."
Lewis said the firm was working wtih both law enforcement and an unnamed cyber security firm, too. He warned customers to be wary of suspicious activity, and provided a helpline.
While this is a relatively small breach compared to other recent incidents, such as the massive breach of Experian, the fact that payment details may have been accessed will cause concern for both the firm and its customers.
