ForeScout, a provider of pervasive network security solutions, has teamed up with Splunk, helping users gain better analyse data and avoid threats.
The deal should see ForeScout, founded in 2000, integrate its CounterACT solution with Splunk’s data analytics capabilities that should enable users to identify and mitigate threats efficiently.
ForeScout said CounterACT would send its already analysed data to Splunk, which analyses big data from websites, applications sensors and mobile devices, for further analysis.
Scott Gordon, CMO at ForeScout, said IT decision makers are today face visibility and control gaps given the surge in network complexities, BYOD proliferation and sophisticated threats.
"Users not only want greater operational intelligence, but they also want the means to efficiently analyse data and effectuate policy," he explained.
"A combined approach with ForeScout and Splunk gives the best of both worlds to solve a broad range of security issues."
Bill Gaylord, VP of business development at Splunk, added: "Leveraging the interoperability of Splunk Enterprise and ForeScout not only helps expand the surface area for customers to more rapidly and confidently identify problems but also automates controls to directly mitigate threats."
