F-Secure has launched new anti-virus protection for Macs, which is aimed at both the home and business (security-as-a-service) users of Apple computers.
The new antivirus protection is designed to provide real-time protection against all Mac-based threats, automatically detecting and removing any malware, said the company.
Among the features of the protection are: speed and ease of use; real-time antivirus protection with automated updates; firewall control; and a panic button that instantly blocks all online traffic (except update servers in case of emergency).
The company said that its Protection Service for Business is a complete ‘security-as-a-service’ offering specially designed for small and medium-sized companies.
F-Secure channels vice-president Maria Nordgren said the compnay knows how important performance is for Mac users, so the antivirus for Mac has been designed to provide excellent security with maximum performance.
"Our business customers can also enjoy Mac protection provided as a service by their trusted partner; and F-Secure Protection Service for Business makes it easier than ever for partners to manage mixed IT environments through one simple management system," Nordgren said.
The company said that its antivirus for Mac is available for consumers from selected outlets, through their global eStore and from selected retailers.
