Dell SecureWorks has utilised Trend Micro software in its new protection product for physical, virtual and cloud-based servers.

The firm’s all-in-one Server Protection Services solution uses Trend Micro technology including firewall, intrusion detection and intrusion protection systems as well as anti-malware protection.

Dell also claimed its own analysts will monitor, analyse and attempt to fix any security issues uncovered by Trend Micro’s Deep Security software.

SecureWorks’ product management director Dan DeRosa said: "Cyber attacks are becoming more sophisticated every day so it’s imperative for organisations to adopt a multi-layer protection strategy for their high-value servers.

"Our incident response experts and Counter Threat Unit (CTU) researchers continually investigate breaches where hackers use a small entry point to infiltrate a company’s network and access critical servers.

"Server Protection Services, powered by threat context from our incident response and research team, provides a strong security posture."

Partha Panda, VP of channel sales at Trend Micro, added: "We view this as an important relationship that will redefine the concept of comprehensive data centre security in physical, virtual and cloud environments."
