As the text messaging is growing at a rapid pace, there are also growing concerns of SMS security. Security vendor Cloudmark has unveiled a new offering to help mobile operators to address the malicious messaging threats and abuse.
The new suite, MobileAuthority, is a carrier-grade messaging security suite that is designed to enable mobile operators identify malicious senders and detect malicious content for SMS and MMS.
The new security suite combines three vital components to defend operator networks against messaging abuse and threats. The Sender Intelligence enables mobile operators to detect and block spammers either within the operator’s network or from a partner network; the Content Filtering component identifies malicious content and stops mobile messaging abuse by using message fingerprinting and real-time feedback from Cloudmark’s Global Threat Network.
In addition, the company also has a security team to monitor the operator’s network from spam and other attacks.
Jamie de Guerre, chief technology officer at Cloudmark, said: “As mobile messaging threats continue to increase, operators are demanding solutions to protect their users and reduce the burden on their networks. With MobileAuthority, Cloudmark provides the technology, people and data needed to effectively safeguard their customers against mobile threats.”
