Cellcrypt, a provider of encrypted voice calling on mobile phones, has launched a new version of its encrypted voice calling application that runs on Apple devices running iOS and operates over Wi-Fi, GSM,CDMA and satellite networks.

The new version, Cellcrypt Mobile for iPhone, provides voice call encryption for commercially available off-the-shelf cell phones using government-certified security through a downloadable application that makes highly secure calling easy.

The company claims that the software-only offering that uses the IP data channel of cellular (2G, 3G, and 4G), Wi-Fi and satellite networks can be deployed to personnel anywhere in the world in less than 10 minutes.

With support to iOS 4 on iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4, it is interoperable with Cellcrypt running on other devices such as Nokia, Android and BlackBerry smartphones, the company said.

Cellcrypt Mobile uses cryptography certified to US government National Institute of Standards and Technology FIPS 140-2 security standard.

The information assurance authority in the UK has awarded the software-only offering with CESG Claims Tested Mark (CCTM), the company said.

Voice interception on cell phones used by government and corporate personnel is prevented by Cellcrypt Mobile as it delivers high strength security along with good voice call quality similar to a normal mobile phone.

Cellcrypt CEO Richard Greco said the performance of Cellcrypt’s application for iPhone is very impressive, and in trials, customers are reporting international calling with near-perfect voice quality and latency better than landline calling.
