Bitdefender has launched a new security solution to enhance protection for Mac users.
The new Bitdefender Antivirus for Mac provides an innovative, faster scanning engine developed especially for OS X.
The solution incorporates TrafficLight, an application that blocks access to malicious websites and phishing attacks threatening Apple computers.
"In recent years, we saw a massive increase of cyber-attacks targeting the OS X system and a more violent dissemination than before," states Catalin Cosoi, chief security strategist at Bitdefender. "Flashback, for instance, managed to infect more machines than the most aggressive virus did on Windows. More than 600,000 users have allegedly been infected with the Flashback malware."
The groundbreaking Virus Scanner Plus is also available on the Mac App Store, where it was integrated as the first security app capable of "continuous scanning" and providing an extra security layer for Mac users.
Groundbreaking scanning technology of the New Antivirus for Mac eliminates excessive system impact, only verifying new or modified files, and intervening just as needed. The app also integrates alerts into the notification system of the operating system, so they are less intrusive and more familiar to Mac users.
