‘Hacktivists’ belonging to the group Anonymous claimed responsibility for yet another cyber attack on two websites of Swedish government.
People trying to access these sites were greeted with a message that said due to technical problems the websites www.regeringen.se and www.sweden.gov.se are not available, according to Swedish website The Local.
Anonymous Sweden claimed responsibility for attack in its Twitter feed on Saturday.
The Anonymous attack is said to have coincided with protests in Swedish cities against the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA).
The group also reportedly asked symapthisers through the tweets to help them overload the sites.
Anonymous, which started out with Operation Avenge Assange in 2010, by targeting payment sites including PayPal, MasterCard and Visa for freezing the accounts of WikiLeaks, has been in the news lately for attacks on government websites in various countries.
Recently, they also made public transcripts of the conversation between FBI and Scotland Yard, who were discussing investigations on various illegal activities being carried out on the internet.
