ResearchWire: Top 25 Tenders July 29th – August 27th 2021

  • Evaluating the top 25 public sector tenders from the above time range, the most common value band for opportunities lies in the £10m – £50m range, which represents 20% of the total opportunities, however many contracts fell into the £100m – £1500m range this month, accounting for 32% of the opportunities
  • Over the past few months, the total value across the top 25 tenders was either decreasing or lower than one would expect, no doubt attributed to tightened budgets because of Covid-19, yet it would appear public sector organisations are showing signs of recovery, with the top 25 tenders amounting to £4.66bn, almost double the previous month
  • The average contract value has similarly almost doubled, rising by £91m from the previous month across the top 25 tenders, public sector organisations are starting to feel more confident with their procurement strategies now that there are recovery signs across the economy
  • NHS Supply Chain was the biggest spender across the top 25 tenders this month, coming from two opportunities, with most of the spending going on managed equipment and clinical service solutions (£860m) and the procurement of office supplies (£84m)
