3DPrinterOS has introduced the first cloud-based operating system for 3D printing which aims to help in the mass adoption of the emerging technology.
According to 3DPrinterOS, the new OS will provide users access to a vast network of 3D manufacturing hubs around the world.
It will allow users to use a single platform to manage and share available printers in real-time.
The OS will be available for free to Windows, Mac, Ubuntu and Raspberry Pi users, and will support most 3D printers.
It will also come with customisable settings, downloadable stls and the "Magic Fix" app, in addition to facilitating plug-and-play 3D printer connectivity to the cloud using any internet based device.
According to the OS maker, the new technology is expected to gain popularity amongst technical and non-technical users interested in 3D printing technology.
With the new OS, printer manufacturers will be able to streamline printing process by embedding a system software compatible with 3D printers.
3DPrinterOS CTO Anton Vedesin said: "The user benefits are enormous in terms of agility, speed and cost. While current desktop 3D printing software is slow and cumbersome, our cloud-based solution cuts the time to slice a 3D file from 15 minutes to 15 seconds.
