Vmware has revealed several updates across its vRealize cloud management platform with the goal of improving software-defined data centre and cloud operations.
The software virtualisation company is bringing out, VMware vRealize Operations 6.6, vRealize automation 7.3, vRealize Business for Cloud 7.3, vRealize Log Insight 4.5, and vRealize Network Insights 3.4.
The company says that these combine to provide customers with intelligent operations and automated IT capabilities that will help them to stand up and operate a VMware-based cloud.

“VMware is committed to supporting our customers’ digital transformation initiatives by helping them to modernize their data centers as well as integrate their public clouds,” said Ajay Singh, senior vice president and general manager, Cloud Management Business Unit, VMware.
“These latest updates to our vRealize platform will help customers get more out of their hybrid cloud investments today, and put them on a path for cross-cloud management of applications and infrastructure regardless of where the workload is running.” 
Updates to vRealize Operations 6.6 sees the addition of what the company is calling new intelligence to workload placement decisions to fully automate workload balancing across clusters and datastores. The release features predictive Distributed Resource Scheduler that combines analytics from vRealize Operations with VMware vSphere DRS.
The 6.6 version will also offer native vSAN management and monitoring so that it will no longer be necessary to separate download and installation of a management pack.
Further updates will see vRealize Business for Cloud 7.3 appear as a tab in vRealize Operations, with the aim of showing new insights into how capacity utilisation can drive cost efficiencies.
