UK bed retailer Dreams has seen a 35% increase in its online sales over the Easter period with the help of Rackspace managed hosting services.

Dreams deployed the Magento platform, which is supported by the Rackspace managed cloud, to address the increasing needs of online shoppers.

The performance of servers is combined with the scalability of cloud using the eCommerce solution.

Network uptime is guaranteed even in peak times such as January sales and Bank Holiday weekends when huge traffic spikes occur on the site.

Dreams also uses a set of hardware in order to further utilise servers for maximising resilience and uptime.

The frontend uses various load-balanced web servers to offer redundancy and performance.

Dreams eCommerce head Richard Voyce said: "Turning to the high performance and reliability of the Rackspace Dedicated Server Solution has been great as it has allowed us to concentrate on our core business, rather than making sure the website is always up and running."

Rackspace International MD Jeff cotton said: "We’ve listened to what our retail customers want and subsequently introduced teams of specialists who focus on delivering platforms such as Magento and hybris.

"This is particularly useful for companies like Dreams which invests heavily in marketing campaigns that drive spikes in website traffic."

Dreams website was launched in 2011 and currently operates over 160 stores.
