IBM is planning to acquire Workday services partner Meteorix to help its clients deploy cloud-based finance and HR functions.

Meteorix provides consulting, deployment, integrations and on-going post production services for Workday Financial Management and Human Capital Management (HCM) applications.

Workday supports enterprises with cloud applications for finance and HR, and provides best practices for maximising returns. Meteorix has more than 200 certified Workday consultants, on whom its customers rely for services.

IBM currently provides implementation services and consulting for SAP and Oracle shops and by associating with Workday, it is expected to make the services more cloud friendly.

IBM Global Business Services senior vice-president Bridget van Kralingen said: "The planned acquisition of Meteorix can make IBM one of the leading, most qualified and experienced Workday service providers in the world.

"It deepens the quality of service to existing Workday clients and dramatically expands our reach to new clients. Meteorix’s Workday implementation experience combined with our industry and transformational expertise as well as the industry’s foremost business analytics capability and leadership in cognitive computing will unlock next-generation employee engagement and productivity while accelerating financial performance."
