IBM has added a new service, IBM Alert Notification Service to its Bluemix cloud platform that will allow DevOps teams to receive and respond to early, critical alerts about issues related to applications, before it affects the users of that particular application.
IBM Alert Notification Service will allow developers to receive notification as email, SMS or voice when they are required to take immediate action.
The system is capable of operating with real-time and historical network analytics of IBM Netcool Operations Insight.
Developers will be able to use the REST API to integrate with this service to notify the right team.
IBM said that the service can be configured for escalations to reduce the time needed to identify and respond to an alert.
It is also expected to help protect against downtime, and will also reduce the time needed to identify and respond to an alert.
IBM Alert Notification Service will facilitate the creation of customised notification policies which will send the alert to the right team members.
It is designed to work with on premise solutions for those who want to use it across hybrid environments.
