Red Hat is now offering Red Hat Cloud Suite for Applications to help businesses develop, deploy and manage applications at scale using open source technologies.
Red Hat Cloud Suite for Applications integrates Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform, OpenShift, and Red Hat CloudForms.
With the integration of OpenShift with OpenStack, users will gain access to a full suite of middleware and mobility services, and will be able to develop, deploy, and manage applications in a faster way.
Red Hat highlighted that many organisations are evolving toward software architecture style microservices, which is capable of running within containers to increase efficiency, portability, and scalability.
In order to realise their full potential, the new architectures require scalable infrastructure, but most organisations have a large volume of workloads that are not yet adapted for a microservice or container-based architecture.
However, these organisations with large volume of workloads are likely to benefit from having a solution that supports new container-based application architectures and applications running within virtual machines.
According to Red Hat, customers are looking for a complete, open source solution capable of providing scalable infrastructure and increased developer productivity, along with the ability to select from a broad choice of hardware and certified software vendors.
Red Hat Cloud Suite for Applications claims to address the issue by providing Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) for rapid application delivery and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) for massive scalability.
The solution will also enable customers to avoid cloud silos, a situation where the data is unable to interact with other systems.
Red Hat Products and Technologies president Paul Cormier said: "Combining these powerful cloud offerings addresses a significant customer need to reduce silos and enable more efficient OpenStack cloud deployments.
" While other companies can provide one or two of the building blocks for a cloud, Red Hat is the only vendor that can offer IaaS, PaaS and management in an open environment, backed by the strength of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and and the ability to leverage certified hardware of their choice."
