Data centre firm Equinix has announced the launch of its Global Channel Partner Program to assist enterprise customers with appropriate IT and cloud solutions.

The program was designed for managed service providers (MSPs), network service providers (NSPs), system integrators (SIs) and solution providers (SPs).

The scheme is targeted at companies in the Americas, EMEA and the Asia-Pacific region.

Partners will be able to resell and refer Equinix services, with enterprise customers receiving assistance from the channel community they usually work with.

Equinix identified a gap in the market where enterprises lacked assistance in the choosing of the best IT and cloud services.

The company has a long list of cloud partnerships including Cisco, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure and IBM SoftLayer. All of these partners will be included in the Global Channel Partner Program.

Channel partners will ensure enterprises use Equinix Cloud Exchange to successfully improve their hybrid cloud strategies. By implementing Equinix’s Performance Hub, new recurring revenue streams will also become a reality.

The program seeks to open new revenue in the global market, while channel partners will benefit from Equinix’s global footprint, advanced interconnection solutions, and vast ecosystems.

The new solution aims tol help enterprise costumers reach a balance between public and private clouds, and traditional IT environments.

Equinix’s program will be run by Christopher Rajiah, vice president of worldwide partner and alliances.

Pete Hayes, chief sales officer at Equinix, said: "We are empowering our channel partners to capitalise on the significant business opportunity to support their customers’ cloud transformation needs, and not only increase their ‘trusted advisor’ status but also make it easier for them to extend their services and increase wallet share by offering new services.

"This program represents one of the top strategic initiatives for Equinix, and we have made significant investments to ensure our partners are set up for success, including increasing our internal resources six-fold over the past year."

Dave Stinson, vice president of sales at Carpathia, said: "Their [Equinix’s] interconnected data centres and global reach is a significant component of our highly customised approach, empowering customers to meet their unique cost, security and compliance requirements through flexible, hybrid cloud solutions that combine the best of public cloud resources with private infrastructure.

"With an expanding base of hundreds of combined customers, Carpathia is pleased to be able to support the IT transformation and hybrid cloud journey through our partnership with a global leader like Equinix."
