Modern data centre software company Veeam has set out plans for 2016, with a stronger focus on the enterprise, cloud and partners ecosystem.

At VeeamOn’s partners summit, CEO Ratmir Timashev said that priority number one for his company is the enterprise. He said: "Virtualisation, cloud and modern storage are the foundation for the enterprise and the private cloud."

The CEO also set out a vision to keep focusing on the company’s partners.

Being 100% channel focused and only selling products through its channel, Veeam has a special relationship with Microsoft and VMware, two partners highlighted by the CEO as key for next year.

Timashev said: "All companies are going through modernisation with one goal: to help their business be more competitive; the world we live in is more competitive than seven years ago [when Veeam was created]. IT was important ten years ago, IT is strategic now."

With 157,000 customers and products running on 9.1 million VMs, Veeam is also trying to become a $1 billion company by 2018.

Jim Tedesco, SVPsSales, North America, at Veeam, said: "There is a sweeping transformation in the industry: that is virtualisation and the cloud."

The company’s vision set by Timashev wants to take advantage of these trends and other transformations happening in modern data centre space.
