Capgemini has signed a deal with Unit4 to add its ERP and business applications to its BPO as a Stack, a move designed to tap into Business Process as a Service (BPaaS) demand.

The partnership expands Capgemini’s BPaaS solution and technology alliance portfolio, providing new approaches for scalable back-office enterprise IT.

Unit4 applications will be integrated with services, processes and infrastructure via Capgemini’s assembled-to-order solution.

The companies said demand for Software as a Service (SaaS) and Business Process as a Service (BPaaS) is increasing as organisations seek quicker speed-to-market and lower cost of ownership.

Capgemini will use Unit4’s expertise in ERP to strengthen its BPaaS offering, including its Virtual Company solution.

The enhanced solutions will allow companies to rapidly address business challenges, optimise and predict total cost of service, and reduce implementation as well as delivery risk.

The expanded offerings will be specifically targeted towards the education, not for profit, professional services, retail and finance sectors in the Nordics, North America, Germany, Spain, Netherlands, UK, Ireland and Asia-Pacific.

Capgemini CEO of business process outsourcing and member of the group executive committee Christopher Stancombe said: "Over two thirds of companies are due to refresh their ERP in the next 3 years – Business Process as a Service through our BPO as a Stack including our Virtual Company solution gives customers innovative alternatives to deliver business change more quickly but at reduced cost.

"Our alliance with Unit4 will further strengthen our solution portfolio on a new technology platform and increase choice for our customers."

Unit4 will also work with Capgemini as a traditional system integration partner and is already undertaking business development activities in several countries.
