Internet service provider Verio Inc continues on its relentless round of acquisitions with the purchase of Global Internet Network Services Inc, the ISP operations of Global Internet.Com Inc. The division, which served as the internet access and network integration arm of Global, will extend Verio’s Midwest presence. The division was acquired by Global in 1994, when it was known as MIDnet. Englewood, Colorado-based Verio has used its $250m in equity and debt financing to build up a national network of local and regional service providers, now covering 31 of the top 50 US markets. Expansion is continuing, says Verio.
