Facebook’s director of platform partnerships, Ethan Beard, has announced that he is leaving the company.

Soon after the announcement on his Facebook page platform marketing director for Facebook, Katie Mitic, has also announced her plan to leave the company as well as Jonathan Matus, Facebook’s mobile platform marketing manager.

Beard started working for the company in 2008 and was in charge of building Facebook’s ecosystem of developers from start-ups and companies.

"It is with mixed emotions that I’m letting you all know that I’ve decided to leave Facebook to seek my next adventure," wrote Beard.
"For the past 4+ years I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the most brilliant people on one of the most impactful products the world has ever seen."

Matus also announced his departure on his Facebook page with plans to move into an entrepreneurial direction.

"I am announcing that I’ve decided that for me, the time has come to embark on a new road, a new adventure," wrote Matus. I’ve decided to leave Facebook to explore new directions and entrepreneurial ideas. I’ve had the pleasure of shipping some amazingly disruptive products with some of the most brilliant, hard working people in Tech. I’m exceptionally proud of the momentum we’ve built in a little over a year and the value we are delivering to mobile developers every day."

The departure of three Facebook executives comes in the wake of Facebook’s first earnings report. The social network reported a net loss of $157m in the second quarter compared to a net income of $240m in the same quarter a year ago. Even though the company’s revenue was up 32%, totalling $1.18bn, stocks fell to an all time low due to the company’s net loss and unforeseeable financial future.
