Sony has unveiled new Vaio E Series notebooks, which pack an Intel Core i5 processor with hyper-threading and turbo boost technologies, and Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium operating system.
According to Sony, the new laptops feature 15.5-inch widescreen display with optional HD capability, an isolated keyboard with a built-in numeric pad, optional blu-ray disc ROM drive, HDMI output and bluetooth technology on select models.
In addition, the E Series notebooks also feature eSATA/ USB port, three USB ports and up to 500GB hard drive. The notebooks also come with three hardware buttons, Web, Vaio and Assist. The Web button allows users to access internet without full boot up into Windows, Vaio button enables users to launch directly into Sony’s own Media Gallery software and the Assit button for troubleshooting issues.
The Vaio E Series laptops come in a choice of five translucent, high-gloss colours caribbean green, iridescent blue, coconut white, hibiscus pink and lava black, and three matte colors, maple brown, silver white and gunmetal.
Mike Abary, senior vice president of the VAIO business group at Sony, said: Sony is once again bringing innovation to the PC industry. The E Series delivers contemporary-cool designs at mainstream prices, proving consumers no longer have to sacrifice style for affordability.
The new Vaio E Series notebook is expected to retail for about $700.
