Silver Spring Networks, a networking platform provider, has unveiled insight-as-a-service offering, the SilverLink cloud services, for the energy industry.

The smart grid operational services will enable customers to access and integrate real-time performance analytics, monitoring, and alerts for their smart grid network and applications operations.

Silver Spring Networks chairman, president and CEO Scott Lang said the company has launched the industry’s first insight-as-a-service offering, unlocking the economics, scale, speed and flexibility of the cloud to help customers improve their business operations.

"With SilverLink cloud services our customers gain a new and unprecedented opportunity to leverage real-time operational insights to continually improve the performance and efficiency of their business," Lang added.

SilverLink cloud services are available to customers via subscription, and initially include SilverLink Console that delivers real-time application and field network monitoring, alerts, and performance data; and SilverLink Operations Center for real-time operations data.

Silver Spring Networks senior vice president of Smart Grid Services and Operations Don Reeves said the new insight-as-a-service offering delivers targeted and specific data tailored to the needs of distinct teams within the utility, leading to greater operational insights, rapid problem identification and resolution, and improved efficiency and reliability."

"The speed and specificity of SilverLink insights enable utilities to save time and money by liberating them from generic reporting systems and expensive custom integrations," Reeves added.
