UK-based Securicor 3Net Ltd is planning to show-case five new ISDN and leased line routers at the UK’s largest networks show, Networks ’96, this month. The launch will coincide with the introduction of version 7.0 of the operating system used in its Gallery Multiprotocol Router family. To support Fractional Primary Rate ISDN, 3Net will launch the Renoir 2431, which supports a single Ethernet and also two leased lines. It will cost around $8,300. A dual Primary Rate router, the Cezanne 3432, wi ll offer 60 B channels and two Ethernet interfaces. It is expected to cost around $11,600. Three multiple leased line routers will also be introduced to the Gallery family. The Renoir 2424 with six synchronous interfaces, each offering up to 256Kbps will cost almost $6,200. The Renoir 2624 featuring four synchronous interfaces, offering up to 256Kbps and one Basic Rate Interface will come at around $6,200 also. The Cezanne 3624 has four synchronous interfaces each offering up to 1Mbps and one Basic Rate Interface, and will cost around $7,300. All of the products are expected to ship this month. Finally, the company claims that version 7.0 of the router operating system will enable network managers to implement military standard security on remote access networks with support for the world’s first router-based DES Hardware Encryption across ISDN and leased lines, Radius and Generic Routing Encapsulation.
