SAP has released its new Solution Manager, an application management offering which the company says help customers better organise their IT landscapes, by providing support for both SAP and non-SAP applications.
SAP Solution Manager 7.1 helps in organising the implementation and operation of new technologies, as well as helping customers to adopt innovations from SAP such as the SAP HANA platform.
The new release establishes a common language between business and IT, according to the firm. It is an integrated, end-to-end orchestration platform for accelerating innovation and application life-cycle management, improving operational quality and lowering costs, SAP claimed.
The 7.1 release allows managers to derive benefits from the information stored in SAP Solution Manager, such as data about emergency changes or overdue outbound deliveries and also remove the need for customers to buy separate application management tools.
SAP Active Global Support executive vice president Uwe Hommel said SAP Solution Manager 7.1 is a platform for running SAP-centric customer offerings with factory-like precision.
"For example, availability, performance and data quality are monitored in an operations control center, which improve business continuity and offering quality. SAP Solution Manager is also the core value pillar for SAP Enterprise Support services and SAP MaxAttention support," Hommel said.
