Rackspace has launched its formal service and support offering, Cloud Builders, for enterprise.

The new offering will provide formal training and certification, deployment services and ongoing assistance to enterprises and extend its customer service to enterprises working in OpenStack, said the company.

Through the new offering, organisations deploying OpenStack, an open source cloud operating system, can now receive formal service and support offerings from Rackspace Hosting.

Cloud Builders brings together the OpenStack experts from the team who built and operate the Rackspace Cloud and from the recent acquisition of Anso Labs, a professional services firm that has helped large business and government organisations deploy and operate OpenStack Clouds.

Rackspace is also working with others in the OpenStack ecosystem, including Autonomic Resources, Canonical, Citrix, Cloudscaling, Cybera, Dell, Equinix, Intel, Grid Dynamics, Microsoft and Opscode, to deliver training, system integrations and deployment services.

Rackspace Cloud Builders general manager Jim Curry said customers want to realise the benefits of cloud computing in many locations depending on their requirements and needs.

"The promise of being open, flexible and compatible makes OpenStack the ideal platform; however, they also want the assurance that a partner like Rackspace is standing behind them when deploying it in their own datacenters," Curry said.

"We are ready to support OpenStack deployments anywhere starting today."
