Quantum Corp, based in Milpitas, California has implemented write caching on 3.5 form factor drives: WriteCache improves data throughput rates, and it is now offered on Quantum’s high-capacity ProDrive Series products; it enables data to be transferred from the host to the buffer while data is simultaneously written to the disk; Quantum is claiming that sustained transfer rate can increase between 50% and 200% during data write operations.
