Small cell and compact outdoor 4G wireless base stations developer PureWave Networks has selected configuration management and network automation software provider Tail-f Systems’ ConfD software to build on-device management system for its Constellation family of LTE small cell base stations.

Tail-f’s ConfD is an application for building on-device management systems for all kinds of networking equipment.

ConfD auto-renders northbound interfaces such as, CLI, Web UI, NETCONF, SNMP and a RESTFul API, from a single data model.

The application includes an enhanced infrastructure, an embedded database, transaction management and also supports high-availability deployments.

PureWave Networks Engineering vice-president Reza Golshan said it has selected Tail-f’s technology after an evaluation process for PureWave’s advanced LTE small cells.

"Having used ConfD software in our previous product generations we have come to rely upon it as a key part of our carrier-grade base station architecture. ConfD reduces our development risk, effort and time to market," Golshan said.
