Adobe Systems Inc licensed Adaptec Inc to offer PostScript Level 2 software and related technologies on its OEM printer controller boards for laser, inkjet, multifunction, colour and thermal printers; reported that PostScript Level 2 was integrated with Hewlett-Packard Co’s plain-paper PaintJet XL300 colour printer; and that Integrated Device Technology Inc will create an IDT R3051 hardware reference system for PostScript Level 2 software, providing a documented hardware design running PostScript Level 2 software with Adobe’s standard input-output options, front panel, and Canon RX engine interface, for evaluation of its R3051, R3052, and R3081 RISControllers, as well as the new lower-cost R3041 RISC which is announced this week.
